Important Things you must know before you go to Singapore

Singapore is a clean and safe city-state living in Discipline. 

As a tourist, you need to know some small things not to break their law in public to enjoy the whole trip. 

1. Do not throw any of your small trash incautiously.
You can see plenty of dustbins anywhere in Singapore and do not hesitate to use them.  If not, both residents and visitors who break the law will be fine.

2. Do not spit on the road/platform/drainage
You are not allowed to spit in the public area. The reason is to protect against any virus spreading and destroy cleanliness.  

3. Queue anywhere
If you go to any ticket booths, shopping centres, and even toilets, you must queue and avoid cutting the line. Of course, there is no fine at all but you may be looked down upon by their civilities.

4. Stand on the left-hand side on the escalators
According to Singapore culture, people are always busy and rushing on their timelines. So the right-hand side of the escalators is reserved for those people at all times. If you have time, please do not disturb that channel and enjoy riding on the other side. 

5. Do not eat and drink on the trains and stations
They may have several reasons for that; please follow their instructions because you can be fined more than SGD 500 once they catch it by CCTV.

6. Do not sit at Priority seats on buses or trains
They are reserved for children, senior citizens, and the permanents, sometimes accessible, as the priority seats on public transportation. Never mind, you can sit there if they are not around but you may be disappointed to make a place for them in your way. please choose another seat if available. However, don't worry; there is no fine in this case.

7. No Chewing Gum
Singapore strictly prohibited Chewing Gum. Do not allow bringing them into the country and will be charged if suspiciously found in your bags. You cannot buy it anywhere either. 

8. Cigarette without a license
It is quite expensive to buy but do not try to buy cheaper ones illegally. You may get in trouble when they make a surprise check and must pay the fine too high.

9. Smoke in the designated area
You cannot smoke if it is not the smoking area. Eg. In the food court except for smoking tables, air-con rooms, Near the bus stops. Smoking while walking is also prohibited strongly. The easy way to smoke is to find the dustbin and you are lucky to find a small steel ashtray ensuite with the bin.   

10. Do not bring any restricted items below
(a) Tobacco
(b) not more than one box of the cigarette
(c) Alcohol except buying from the Duty-free shop
(d) Any narcotic drugs 
(e) Dark eggs
