The Checklist for Europe Trip

If you have a great plan to visit Europe, I would say that it is very important to collect the necessary things gradually at first. Therefore, I share a checklist to make sure all of your required items are ready.

A. Personal Travel Document

1. Passport
2. Visa
3. Air ticket
4. Hotel reservation documents and Address

B. Personal Safety

1. Travel Insurance
2. Waist Pouch (To prevent pickpocketing, wearing this is the best option to keep important documents and valuable items.)

C. Personal Health

1 . Analgesic, Antibiotic, Simethicone
2. Regular medicine for personal healthcare
3. Plaster, Balm, Hand Sanitiser, Tissue
4. Moisturiser, Lip Balm

D. Electronic Device

1. Power Bank
2. Traveller Charger ( Since every specific country in Europe use different types of plugs and sockets, you may need these chargers which are available to switch various kinds easily)
3. SD card ( taking extra is recommended to avoid not having enough memory by taking pictures)

**Special Note: Avoid bringing Computers or Tablets if you are not working remotely during vacations because taking care of many items will become stressful along your journey. Just for advice to have a happier trip**

E. Currencies Guideline

This is only a suggestion for 10-14 days trip in 2020

1. Euro 500 ~ 1000
2. Swiss Franc CHF 350 ~ 500

*If your trip includes staying in Switzerland, you must need Swiss France because the Euro is not their local currency. I would say everything is a bit expensive in Switzerland.

*If you have a plan to go free and easy, you may need more than that because activities and entrance fees have to be paid by yourself.

F. Internet Guideline

1. You can buy their local SIM card at the local store.
2 . You can buy a Roaming Package from your country. It is slightly more expensive to buy packages for individual countries than combined packages. As my tour will visit 4 countries in total, I have to buy the package which is available to visit 80 countries and it costs S$40 for two weeks.
3. Lend a WiFi router at Changi Airport in Singapore. The router can be lend or a fee, calculated based on the number of days needed. It is suitable for group tours as the average cost per person becomes cheaper. Check it out link below.

G. Clothing Guideline

Summer Time
1. 10~12 pieces - Pants, Jeans or Dresses
2.10~12 pieces - T-Shirt, Shirt or Any Top
3. 1 piece - wind jacket
4. 1 pair of Sandal and 1 pair of shoes
5. Umbrella/ Disposal raincoat
6. Sufficient amount of undergarments

Winter Time
1. 7~10 pieces - Pants, Jeans or Dresses
2.7~10 pieces - T-Shirt, Shirt or Any Top
3. 1~2 pieces - winter jacket
4. 1~3 pieces - sweater
5. 2~4 pair (Top and pants) - Heat tech
6. 1 pair of winter shoes and 1 pair of normal shoes
7. 3 ~ 5 pair of Sock
8. Umbrella/ Disposal raincoat
9. 8~10 pack of Heat pack for hand warming
10. Sufficient amount of undergarment

H. Food Guideline

For Asians, it is very difficult to eat European food continuously because even chilli sauce is not available in any restaurant. They always use only tomato sauce instead. Therefore, Asians who like hot taste may face trouble after a few days. I suggest bringing your favourite food which is dried and portable.

What to bring?
  • Instant noodle cups with your favourite flavour
  • Some Singaporeans brought Bakkwa, just a few only. Please do not bring too much.
  • I brought our traditional pickle tea leave and some fried various beans
  • If you want to bring preserved fish paste, make sure to cover it so as not leak the smell
  • A few Dried and light foods are suggested to bring but do not bring anything too much to avoid the suspect from local customs.

What not to bring?
  • Raw fish and meats
  • Fresh Vegetables and Fruits
  • Any kind of Apple especially for Switzerland
  • Bird nests are strongly prohibited in the Netherlands

I. Others

1. Travel Pillow (To comfort for a long journey on the Coach)
2. Thermal Flask
3. Selfie Stick

I hope it will be quite perfect for your trip so far.
Now you can start to buy or collect items from now on.

Please make sure that our environment is not destroyed by our actions.
